ELECTRIC
The City of LaFayette is a member city of the Alabama Municipal Electric Authority and provides city-owned power to its residents, serving approximately 1,400 customers. The city purchases power for its distribution system from AMEA at two LaFayette owned substations. The 115 KV transmission line is owned by Alabama Power Company. All equipment located at both substations is owned and operated by the City of LaFayette.
